Volunteering – a central role in our work

Our Leadership & Participation (L&P) groups are committed to the empowerment and integration of refugees. In designated groups, participants take part in workshops on topics such as mental health, anti-racism, empowerment and project planning. These groups organize social projects, promote both tolerance and equality and motivate other new arrivals to volunteer and act as a bridge between different groups of refugees and the host society. Their objective is to promote intercultural exchange and minimize the marginalization of individual communities.

Many of our volunteers are successful graduates with a refugee background from previous programs who now share their knowledge and experience. However, people from other backgrounds also join our efforts, bringing their skills and expertise to various areas. Volunteers at OlamAid contribute not only to supporting refugees but also to humanitarian relief operations following natural disasters and other crises. To ensure that they are well-equipped for their roles, they receive targeted training in key aspects of aid operations before deployment.
